YMMV / Leprechaun 2

Go To

  • Ass Pull:
    • "HE'S GOING TO EXPLODE!"
      • Yeah how did you know that Bridget?
    • The Leprechaun's new weaknesses
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Even if you didn't like the movie, you probably liked Morty.
    • Among protagonists, Cody is one of the hammier ones.
  • Esoteric Happy Ending: The film ends on a high note since the leprechaun has been defeated and Bridgette has been rescued. This is ignoring the fact that Cody is still believed to have kidnapped Bridgette and killed the boy that was at her house, and he may or may not also be accused of killing Morty and the security guard from earlier. While Bridgette has been saved, nobody is going to believe that a leprechaun did the kidnapping and murdering even with her backing him up. If Cody isn't convicted of murder and kidnapping, he will probably be sent to an asylum for his tale of the leprechaun, and if Bridgette continues to support his story, so will she. Best case scenario, they are forced to run away together, which would still mean that Bridgette would never see her family again.
  • Fridge Logic:
    • How the heck did Bridget know the Leprechaun was going to explode.
    • Wait, if the Leprechaun can't kill people who have coins, then... you know what? Each movie is pretty much separate canon anyway.
      • That doesn't explain Morty though...
  • Ham and Cheese:
    • Morty seems to get the nonsensical atmosphere of the film and just runs with it with hamminess.
    • Cody also seems to get this, such as the line when he reveals that the coin he gave the Leprechaun wasn't the real coin.
      REAL MILK CHOCOLATE GENIUS!
  • Ho Yay: The Leprechaun disguises himself as Bridget and snogs Cody to get him to let his guard down. As it turns out, Cody was aware of who he was kissing, and he didn't seem to mind...
  • Narm: The ending is loaded with this, although given how hammy everyone is acting, this might be intentional.
  • The Scrappy: Bridget, for being an utterly dull and boring Damsel in Distress love interest in a movie full of overactors.
