• Harsher in Hindsight: Kathy and Elliot discuss how they don't have real problems with their kids, only minor stuff like Kathleen having low grades. In a few subsequent years Kathleen's going to be arrested for DUI, later arrested for breaking and entering, and diagnosed with Bipolar disorder.
• Hollywood Homely: Cynthia is treated as being unattractive by everyone around her, but she's by no means ugly. Possibly justified since they are kids, and Kids Are Cruel.
