- Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Abel only turn evil after his wife cheated on him and died in a car accident, or was he always unhinged even before that aforementioned incident and only became worse afterward?
- Anvilicious:
- You don't need to be white to be a racist.
- You can be a racial harassment victim no matter what your skin color is.
- Some racists are not necessarily hateful towards skin color. Some racists hate interracial couples, which is just as BAD as any other sort of racism.
- Some racists will make hypocritical exceptions, such as Abel Turner, a racist against the idea of people having interracial sexual desires, enjoying the company of white strippers.
- Women can grope men, as shown by a female stripper groping the male protagonist.
- Abuse of a position of power is a thing.
- Broken Base: Over the ending. Some consider Abel going Axe-Crazy and trying to kill the protagonists to be unrealistic, making him into an easy villain and just overall being there for a climax, whilst others think that it makes sense given his growing antagonistic attitude towards Chris and Lisa
- Jerkass Woobie: Even though Abel is racist to the couple, it's hard not to sympathize with him once you learn about his backstory.
- Moral Event Horizon: At the end, Abel totally crosses the line when he tries to kill Chris and Lisa.
