YMMV / Lady Inger at Austraat

Go To

Fridge Brilliance: It is claimed in the play that Knut Alvsson actually had a lot of Norwegian nobles, if not all the nobility, assembled at the fortress of Akershus the day he was murdered. This could only mean calling a formal assembly for the purpose of making him king. History made a u-turn, and Knut was killed during negotiations. The assembled nobles quickly swore revenge. Which makes the backstory of Lady Inger the more tragic from a national point of view.

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: It is, of course, possible to make Nils Stensson even funnier by making Olaf Skaktavl and/or Niels Lykke visibly face palm when he returns after losing all his men in the last act. Which, of course, is giving Olaf an extra reason for just killing him off (which he does).

    Inger: Where are your men?
Nils: The lie slaughered along the road.
    Olaf: (face palms).
