YMMV / Kye

Go To

  • Breather Level:
    • After a stage of of having to strategically avoid monsters in Zoo, you're presented with a more simple level in the form of Diamond, where you simply must move quickly along a path to avoid getting blocked in, followed by some easy puzzle solving. Corners, which comes directly after Diamond, is even easier and contains a more obvious solution.
    • Following two more typical Kye levels, you're presented with Gallery: Simply manipulate the Sliders with the Turning Blocks to trap the two enemies and collect the Diamonds.
  • Difficulty Spike: For a first-timer, Slider, the third level of the original Kye, can be this. Even the level that comes before it, Second, can require some good thoughts beforehand. Justified since the first level is a Tutorial Level that lets players learn the physics of various objects in the game and puts the only diamond needed to end the level right next to the player's spawn point.
  • That One Level:
    • Level 7: Blocks. You begin with an agonizingly slow magnet segment to unearth and grab the first diamond, followed up by setting loose a cascade of Marbles and setting them into a concealed area in the lower left of the board (which is not as difficult), and finally getting past a chunk of Marbles pressing right up next to a wall of Round Blocks in a very small space.
    • Level 14: Adoorable. Despite the large amount of space in the level itself, there are several Monsters scattered about that you must play around, a door puzzle in the bottom right which requires trial and error to pass through (including preventing yourself from blocking the only correct way out with the Marbles) and a segment in the lower left corner where you must use a technique never used before in Kye: diagonal movement with the mouse or the numerical keypad to grab four of the diamonds. If you play the level in Xye without editing it first, the level becomes Unwinnable as it lacks full diagonal movement.
    • Level 15: RockyV. Fittingly for the final level of the game, you have a Marathon Level with lots of careful movement and navigation. While you can cheese the upper left corner and destroy the Marbles that break loose by guiding them into the Black Holes, the rest of the level requires precision movement through the outer edge and careful usage of the Marbles and Soft Blocks in the final stretch of the level.
