- Designated Hero: Rocket Man is presented as the hero for taking down Dr. Vulcan and Derkin, but as the USAAF start carpet-bombing the island moments later and New York City had already been destroyed, it's hard to see what difference he made. More importantly, Dr. Vulcan wouldn't have a Sonic Decimator to destroy the city if Jeff King hadn't rebuilt it in the first place!
- Harsher in Hindsight:
- The Mayor promises to rebuild New York City, only for it to get destroyed again when another jetpacking-hero fails to save it in Commando Cody: Sky Marshal of the Universe.
- Dr. Vulcan declares that New York City is the wealthiest in the world. By the time J-Men Forever was spoofing this film in The '70s, it was on the verge of bankruptcy.
