YMMV / Kermit's Swamp Years

Go To

  • Anvilicious: "Follow your star" is a nice message about doing what you love but did it need to be repeated 10 different times?
  • Awesome Music: "Life As A Pet" and Horace's scat song.
  • Broken Base: Either it's a loving homage to Jim's legacy or a complete 180 from it. There is no in between.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Much like Muppets from Space, many fans completely disregard this movie altogether. That's not to say it doesn't have its defenders, though, who argue that while it may not be wacky as the other Muppet films, it's still pretty enjoyable for what it is.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Kermit getting help from a young Jim Henson.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Dr. Krassman & Mary are originally going to be this at the beginning of this. But they become the film's Big Bad Duumvirate and chase Kermit, Croaker, and Pilgim throughout the second half of the film.
  • So Okay, It's Average: A lot of people feel that this isn't a terrible movie on its own, but just doesn't measure up to the standards of the other Muppet films.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: A large portion of the film revolves around a man trying to murder and dissect Kermit and the other frogs. It also doesn't help that here are some gross and rather suggestive scenes in the movie (i.e. Goggles mooning Blotch and the scene where Kermit and Krassman fight each other with scalpels.)
