YMMV / Justice League (Infinite Frontier)

Go To

  • Awesome Art: The first arc's art by David Marquez is undoubtedly godlike, but he ends up opting out of doing the main art after issue 63.
  • Broken Base: As per the usual Bendis book, you're either psyched for the roster and the art...or you're not a fan about the lack of plot development, the nonsensical dialogue, and the pandering towards Naomi.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: A large number of readers are just reading the Justice League Dark backups and either skimming or outright ignoring the Justice League portion.
  • Narm:
    • Naomi McDuffie is finally given a proper term for her super-powered condition. She's... a Mega-Power. Uh, seriously Bendis?
    • Naomi's first line in issue #59, "One two three, eyes on me." The significance is never brought up and just sounds ridiculous.
    • A lot of Brutus' intimidation deflates quickly when it turns out he speaks like some high-school jock.
  • Older Than They Think: Namely, DC and Bendis themselves. They marketed Black Adam's inclusion on a superhero team as a huge thing like it’s never been done before. Except Adam was on the JSA two decades ago, during the very high profile run by Geoff Johns and was centre to some of that series' most acclaimed stories.
  • The Scrappy:
    • Naomi herself. She contributes to absolutely nothing as the new recruit to the League. Everyone just reacts as if she has already done remarkable, GOAT-level accomplishments.
    • The Daemon Rose, a.k.a. Leonardo Lane, the apparent brother of Lois Lane. He too provides nothing to the grander scheme of things and his existence renders the strife between General Lane and Lois completely moot. We're not told where he's from and we only know Leviathan wants him for something, but it's never established what that something is. He's also mocked for being a secret agent relative, which draws direct comparisons to the disliked retcon of Peter Parker's parents being such as well. There's also his name being oddly out of place within his all-American family.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • Hippolyta and Black Adam are heavily implied to have a checkered past with each other, but it's never given a proper close look.
    • The League visiting Naomi's home dimension and confronting Zumbado sounds like the perfect first arc, but most of it is just the League getting separated and when Zumbado rears his big ugly head, it's all just flashbacks because Naomi fainted after rushing him.
