YMMV / Jay Lethal

Go To

  • Award Snub: There usually isn't much fuss over PWI placement, especially not regarding the 500, but Lethal's 2015 ranking of 17 was considered low among readers used to the usual trends, especially against some of the names above him. In it's final assessment PWI did end up selecting Lethal as runner up for "Wrestler of the Year", though fan votes played a role in that decision.
  • Awesome Music: Scorched Ops immediately sets the tone for the champion's appearance.
  • Funny Moment: His "woo-off" against Ric Flair. You might have trouble determining who is Jay and who is Ric if you're only listening to it.
  • Moment of Awesome: His entrance at All In, wearing Macho Man Randy Savage's gear and having Leaping Lanny Poffo (Savage's brother) walking with him to the ring.
  • Narm: His Health Alert Hotline commercials are unintentionally hilarious.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: As with many TNA themes, "Static" is one to an indie theme, in this case "Push it" by Static-X
  • Win Back the Crowd: He brought back the prestige critics thought Matt Taven's run had taken away from ROH's Television Title belt, and then some, during his second reign.
  • X-Pac Heat:
    • He, along with Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt during their 2006 Jackass fan boy thing.
    • Again in AEW. This time due to a combination of a boring stable, and unaddressed allegations from Taeler Hendrix and Kelly Klein that he'd tried to torch their ROH careers after they rejected his advances.
