- Best Known for the Fanservice: The film shows Anne Parillaud very naked and front-loaded — it's the first thing you'll see after the establishing shot. Otherwise, very few people watch this film to witness the Anne Rice-style vampire angst.
- Retroactive Recognition: Tony Sirico, Tony Lip and David Proval (Paulie Walnuts, Carmine Luppertazzi and Richie Aprile on The Sopranos respectively) as well as Kim Coates (Tig on Sons of Anarchy) have supporting roles in this film as Sal's crew.
- Romantic Plot Tumor: The romance between Marie and Joe could be completely excised and not impact the plot at all. It seems to exist only to give her a reason not to kill herself in the end - after the plot resolution. That, and there was a lot more nudity because of it.
- Strawman Has a Point: Marie, having just inadvertently created a bunch of Mafia vampires and having to clean it up, walks towards the rising sun with the intention of killing herself and thus preventing her from making the same mistake again. She's talked out of it by her new love interest, but now that we have just seen just how easily it is to make a vampire - indeed multiple vampires in a single evening - it's hard to say she shouldn't kill herself.
