• Tearjerker - Much of the ending but in particular Behrani's reaction to the death of his son.
  • Kathy tries to kill herself, and ends up sobbing as the gun doesn't work. Behrani carries her into the house because he's concerned for her, and she cries she doesn't even care about the house anymore.
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: If you're in the mood to have your day ruined, feel free to check either the book or the film out. If the film's dark tone doesn't get you down, the relentlessly depressing ending will.
