Complete Monster: Harold Rusk is a depraved Stalker with a Crush out to claim Susan Jeremy for his own. As a child, Harold murdered Susan's friend and left his body for her to find after Susan rejected Harold's Valentine's card. Decades later, Harold uses his position in a hospital to get Susan committed there, then begins slaughtering the staff of the building in gruesome ways to further drive Susan mad and frame her. After notably dunking a janitor's head into acid and leaving Susan's decapitated lover for her to find, Harold tries to carve Susan open while she's wide awake to take from her what he's always wanted: her heart.
Crosses the Line Twice: Harold garrotes a woman, sticks the body in a wheelchair, and randomly shoves it down a flight of stairs.
Retroactive Recognition: The producers (Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus) later became two of the most notable indie producers of the 1980's while the director (Boaz Davidson) later co-founded Millennium Films, which is the closest to a modern-day Cannon Films.
Values Dissonance: Characters are portrayed drinking and smoking in a hospital, which is very much frowned upon today due to the potential health hazards it poses to the patients.
