• Faux Symbolism: A priest is killed by his children, who he had assumed were possessed, on Easter.
• Narm: The Thanksgiving dinner, when the kids keep interrupting Dave's prayers by dropping stuff on the floor. Also, this synopsis:
  "In the remote woods of upstate New York, the Poe Family lives a Norman Rockwell life. Perfect house. Perfect marriage. If only the children stopped stapling frogs to trees."
  • The "frogs to trees" part isn't even in the movie (they do some even worse stuff to the frogs though, but it's only revealed on the last day).
• Nightmare Retardant: There is one for the clubhouse reveal scene if you manage to keep in mind (it's not onscreen at the time) that Dave's still wearing his pink Easter bunny suit.
• Squick: All the dead animals seen throughout the film, and Dave mentioning he caught the kids chowing down on raw beef.
• The Woobie: The parents, and the kids' main target, Christian McNamara.
