- Continuity Lock-Out: There are enough differences between this and the actual Potterverse that even a Harry Potter fan can't just jump in and watch the more recent episodes without getting confused about Harry having a voice in his head, a squirrel in a purple turban constantly showing up after the credits, etc. It doesn't help that there are a LOT of series-long running gags and a LOT of Harry Potty episodes (an average book is covered by about 12-15 episodes, roughly 2 hours or so).
- Growing the Beard: The later episodes are of noticably higher quality.
- Les Yay: Between Professor McGonagall and Mrs. Norris. No, really.
- The Woobie: Billy the Dementer.
