YMMV / Happy Game

  • Awesome Art: As expected for a game in Amanita Design's name, everything is designed beautifully in a creepy sort of fashion.
  • Awesome Music: The music was made by DVA, a Czech music band, and the resulting tracks bring a hopeful, yet very ominous tune to the events unfolding. View most of them here
  • Best Level Ever: The second nightmare levels are often considered the most memorable of the nightmare levels due to the game's creative use of bright colors, creatures, and horror tropes, especially the bunny levels. Of course, that's not to say that the other levels aren't good in their own right.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The soccer match in the "smiley land" section of the second nightmare. After the Child has gotten his head ripped off inside a smiley helmet, he rolls himself, as a head, into a very goofy soccer setup with an excited sports commentator playing in the background and stands filled with smiley angels bearing vuvuzela-esque horns. Even though the player must manipulate the kicker creature into shattering the goalie creature with the soccer ball, the setpiece is by far one of the goofiest and most genuinely light-hearted in the game, feeling more like a slice of its predecessor Chuchel. The scene also has no apparent symbolic importance and only serves as a weird segment of the level.
  • Creepy Cute: Since most of the game takes place in a child's mind, many things within his nightmares usually follow this trope, even with creatures that are utterly horrible to to look at.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: A common complaint is that the game can be completed in the span of an hour, with some people wishing that it should have been expanded to help add more to the game's gameplay.
