- Alternate Character Interpretation: Given that the film never follows up on Ryu's debt and Hal's involvement in said affair, it's entirely possible the whole thing was part of an intervention to snap Hal out of his delusional state and get him to see the truth.
- Broken Base: People are divided on how well the ending was executed, especially since it seemed rushed and wrapped up in about 10 minutes.
- Tear Jerker: The end of the movie was a huge tear jerker, especially when the audience learns more about Hal and Kurumi's past.
