YMMV / Hades Vanquish

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The music for the Road of a Judgement in Floors 29F & 30F, which are entered after the Final Boss is beaten. A very triumphant Hope Spot of a theme that signifies Mana nearing the end of her escape from Hell, and a much-needed contrast with the nature of the floors themselves.
  • Difficulty Spike: By the third set of dungeon floors, the Bottom in the (River) Styx, the game becomes much harder due to the increased amount of time Mana will have to spend underwater to get through those floors. That, combined with the smaller amount of air pockets (if you're lucky to find any at all), makes not getting hit and maintaining the Oxygen Meter a lot more crucial. A Hades resident even warns Mana before these floors that no ordinary human would be able to get through there without drowning. You continue on anyway to prove him wrong.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Yurina doesn't have any role in Mana's Escape from Hell beyond waking her up at the hospital in the game's normal ending, and as the Golden Ending shows, being accidentally responsible for Mana's death to begin with, but what little screentime she does have in the game has piqued the interest of fans that want to see her more in action, to the point that Fox, himself has made additional artwork that often puts more focus on Yurina compared to Mana in the years following the release of the game.
  • Good Bad Translation: The self-made English script is slightly more comprehensive compared to past Fox Eye games with this trope, but there's still quite a bit of Engrish to go around, especially in the ending.
  • Iron Woobie: Mana. To start off, she died from cardiac arrest, and at first has no clue what her life was before that happened, which leads right into her journey to escape from Hades and return back to life. She's capable of using her Flash Gun to fight her way through the Hades demons, but she tends to be questioned on why she died with that gun to begin with, to the point of even being called a bloodthirsty killer. This brings Mana to tears over how she could've possibly killed someone with the gun during her lifetime, but she's still willing to muscle through Hades with it in order to come back to life in order to find out what really happened to her.
  • Les Yay: Quite a bit of implications between Mana & Yurina whenever the two are on screen together, which is to say both of the game's endings.
    • In the Golden Ending, in particular, Mana was willing to not wear panties and use the length of her dress to hide this from Yurina for their sleepover. Then later on, after she accidentally gets drunk and sent to bed by Yurina, Mana unknowingly flashes her whole body at her the next morning by laying out of her bed in what Yurina describes as "a terrible position" due to Mana being knocked out from her drunkenness. The artwork you win with this ending also has them forming a heart with their hands, making it seems like they're more than just best friends...
    • Beyond this game's release, years later, this 2021 Pixiv art shows Mana and Yurina outright sharing an Underwater Kiss, very similarly to Natica and Sandy's bond, confirming them as true lovers. Or at the very least, that's what Yurina wants to have happen from her point of view of imagining this up. It's no wonder she gets so worried over Mana's initial death...
