- A small one with Shinedown. Thought the bands have toured together, many feel the two bands have similar styles and are constantly at odds. They are also the most successful Mainstream Rock bands in recent memory, with their songs constantly competing in the Top 5 of that chart.
- With Alice in Chains fans, who sometimes consider Godsmack to be a rip off of their sound. For his part, Jerry Cantrell feels Layne Staley's family should get royalties because Godsmack's logo is close to the sun logo Layne designed, but musically he doesn't hear the similarity.
