* OvershadowedByControversy: The sudden firing of Thomas Winkler came amidst [[https://loudwire.com/alleged-leaked-chat-gloryhammer-misogynists-racists/ allegations of racism and misogyny by the other band members and domestic abuse by bassist James Cartwright]], which led some prominent Website/YouTube channels such as WebVideo/TankTheTech to decide not to cover them anymore.

* TheWoobie: Angus the Second more or less ends up screwing up every single attempt to stop Zargothrax's clone. From "Keeper of the Celestial Flame of Abernathy"'s music video where he damagaes Zargothrax's prison onward to [[spoiler: getting his universe destroyed]], he's a major FailureHero. Which actually makes him very likable to the audience.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Zargothrax believes his actions will "liberate the multiverse from slavery and fear."

* CompleteMonster: [[SorcerousOverlord Zargothrax]], the Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty, [[EstablishingCharacterMoment begins]] by raining fiery death on the populace of Dundee, raping and kidnapping its fair princess, and proclaiming himself Dundee's dark emperor. * AssPull: While the Star Lords gave been mentioned many times before, the fact that bringing their three artifacts together would make them appear comes out of nowhere as a rather blatant DeusExMachina ''and'' DiabolusExMachina at the same time. It's also not explained why they spare Angus but destroy the universe around him.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Robot Prince of Auchertool seems to have enraptured the band's official Reddit, despite only appearing in two songs and existing entirely to be a jobber for the Double Wizards.

* HarsherInHindsight: Angus [=McFife=]'s death at the end of ''Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex'' turned out to be rather convenient when his performer Thomas Winkler [[https://www.metalsucks.net/2021/08/23/gloryhammer-fire-vocalist-allegations-surface-of-abuse-and-racism-against-other-band-members/ was fired from the band]] before they could write any more albums with him.

* AntiClimaxBoss: Played straight with the Deathknights of Crail who are wiped out by Ralathor's nuclear strike.

Notable lyrics include "A hero cannot be defeated, simply by making him die" and "Like tears of a unicorn lost in the rain, chaos will triumph this day."

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: A hallmark of Gloryhammer's style is how their songs are somehow still absurdly epic in spite of also being flat-out absurd. There are too many specific examples to name, but perhaps the best example of this is ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYPiTy6yYSE The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny]]'', which incidentally features audible stylistic parodies of fellow absurdly-awesome bands Music/RhapsodyOfFire, Music/BlindGuardian, and Music/{{Sabaton}}.
