YMMV / Gloria's House

Go To

  • Adorkable: Rodney Perfeck. Even Notta perceives him as such In-Universe.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The series is popular in India among speakers of the languages that aren't Hindi (e.g. Tamil and Malayalam) due to the Sun TV Network's channels such as Chutti TV and Kushi TV having aired the show for ages, as evidenced by some YouTube videos having comments from people who remember the show being aired in those languages.
  • Narm Charm: The show's voice acting sounds rather hokey as a lot of characters tend to say things in a really weird inflection, but it otherwise adds to the show's off-kilter appeal.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Episode 6, "Lost in the City", has Gloria getting lost in the city, as the title says, and it doesn't shy away from portraying the fear and confusion of a child all alone in an unfamiliar place, not knowing where to go. We are not shown anything too bad, but we still can hear a lot of scary sounds from her point of view and when she tries to ask a grownup for help, they just ignore her.
  • Ugly Cute:
    • Gloria has buck teeth, messy hair, and freckles, but her outgoing and cheerful personality makes her endearing.
    • Bill, Gloria's cat, is adorable, though some of it is out of pity due to the misadventures he gets into.
  • Wheelchair Woobie: Wheels from the episode named after him. He confides in Gloria that he does get a little scared when visiting the doctor because he keeps being given bad news. The reason why he ended up in a wheelchair is also pretty sad: he broke his back in a rodeo competition when a horse's hoof got stuck in a hole and he was bucked off his saddle. Despite this, he puts on a brave face so that no one would think Disabled Means Helpless (which he finds patronising) and possibly for his own sake since his glossing over the accident might imply he doesn't want to dwell on what happened.
