- Strawman Has a Point: Dean breaks up with Rory loudly and publicly at the dance. The audience is meant to sympathize with Rory, but it's hard to begrudge Dean his hurt feelings considering he's been used to make Jess jealous all evening and has been watching Rory develop feelings for someone else all season.
