• Angst? What Angst?: As detailed below, Alison and Tony seem pretty clam throughout the events of the movie given that their son has literally been kidnapped by a wanted fugitive.
• Designated Villain: Steve's ex-wife Alison and her new husband Tony are depicted annoyingly getting in the way of he and Tom's efforts to save Christmas, but from their perspective, their son has literally been kidnapped by Alison's estranged ex-husband who's now a wanted fugitive at the center of a massive manhunt. They honestly seem pretty restrained given the circumstances.
• Older Than They Think: Strangely, Christmas movies featuring a single/divorced father and his kids teaming up with Santa and/or his elves to save Christmas seem to be a long-running tradition in modern family films.
• So Okay, It's Average: The general critical consensus, although some go much stronger toward either direction.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: The stock track used when Tom and Steve see Elf City for the first time is the same one used by one of the Star Trek Online intro cinematics, among many other things.
