- Tough Act to Follow: Generation P was a thorough success and after this novel Pelevin took a lengthy break, his following book appeared only in 2003. Subsequently all his novels were always compared to this one, in most cases unfavourably. Generation P still remains his definitive work.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Wee Vova makes a sole very memorable appearance. He is a ruthless gangster but in the same time a villain with an agenda. He pronounces several memorable lines. However he is promtly killed off in a confrontation with Chechen goons.
