YMMV / Future

Go To

  • Broken Base: HNDRXX is one of Future’s most polarizing albums, mainly due to going in an artistic direction based more on singing than rapping.
    • Ask any Future fan what their favorite work from him is, and it will usually vary between Monster and DS2.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Is rumored to have had an affair with Larsa Pippen because her husband Scottie Pippen denied him an autograph as a kid.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: "I Won", given the tumultous breakups of both Future and Ciara and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
  • Memetic Mutation: Given his unique style:
    • The chorus of "Wicked", which sounds like "wiggywiggywiggywiggywiggy".
    • The flute from "Mask Off".
      • The chorus also became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, for obvious reasons.
    • "When you wanna make a song with your homie, but you like a different beat." Referring to his collaboration with Drake, "Life is Good".
    • "When Future said "mmsndndndnnmnn", I felt that." Jokes about Future's style of rapping.
    • "Sensational", Taken from his interview with Nardwuar.
    • "La-di-da-di-da, Slob on me knob"- Taken from his feature on the Black Panther (2018) soundtrack song, "King's Dead", where he delivers some lines in a weird, squeaky voice.
    • "If Young Metro don't trust you I'm gon' shoot you"- Taken from "Jumpman" with Drake, although he originally rapped it on his feature on Uncle Murda's song "Right Now". Became popular do to the sheer bluntness of the line and later became one of Metro Boomin's producer tags.
  • Sequel Displacement: Who's actually heard the original Dirty Sprite, versus its sequel DS2?
