YMMV / Friday Night Monster Of Monsters

Go To

  • Fridge Brilliance: Interestingly, compared to the other songs so far in the Story Mode, Godzilla or Mothra are the ones to start off "Out of Place", signifying that they're the ones engaging Titanosaurus in combat and not the other way around. This makes sense that Titanosaurus doesn't truly want to fight, as the only fighting he previously did was while he was Brainwashed and Crazy, being a benevolent Kaiju overall.
  • Nightmare Fuel: This being a mod based on a creepypasta, this is pretty much a given. The place where this can most prominently be seen, however, is with "First Instance". Suitmation Trials Godzilla is an incredibly threatening opponent visually, being shrouded in darkness, moving its body in unnatural and uncanny ways, and even outright speaking to the player. The horror isn't over once it disappears halfway through, though; the second half of the song throws you into a frantic instrumental section with zero breaks, a much more difficult chart, and ominous imagery flashing in the background the whole time. You'd best not lose, either, or you'll be met with a Jumpscare for your troubles.
  • Shocking Moments: For the WIP upload of "Redkiller", one fan had noticed that, compared to the other Kaiju chromatics found in this mod thus far, which sound like feral roars, Red's chromatic sounds eerily human, with the vowel sounds other FNF characters make use of, and that it demonstrates just how much more intelligent the Big Bad of the creepypasta is. Even eerier, this was Churgney's intention from the get-go.
  • That One Level:
    • "First Instance" shows itself to be way harder than anything else the mod can throw at you once you reach the instrumental second half. The gameplay suddenly becomes much closer to a typical rhythm game chart, meaning an immense amount of notes, including tons of doubles and triples, flying at you insanely fast with just about zero breathing room for a very long period of time. Good luck getting the full combo on this one.
    • "Hav0x", "Qu4rterb4ck" and "Suitmation Trials" may just be the instrumentals of "Out of Place", "Deus Ex Machina" and "First Instance" respectively, but they more than make up for the lack of opponent by bringing in complex charting the player has to fight through, including double and triple note sets. Add to that the HP system from the game's Story Mode songs and you've got quite the challenging group of songs to really test your reflexes.
