YMMV / Frasier S 02 E 01 Slow Tango In South Seattle

Go To

  • Informed Wrongness: Frasier is scolded by Daphne and Niles for having left Ms. Warner without saying goodbye, but his supposed thoughtlessness can certainly be excused by how young he was at the time. Furthermore, the overall squickiness of his entire relationship with Ms. Warner must be considered: when you're talking about a teenager seduced by his middle-aged teacher, not giving her a proper goodbye is by far the least concerning thing about the situation.
  • Values Dissonance: Ms. Warner and Frasier's relationship can come off as incredibly creepy nowadays. As his piano teacher, she was in a position of authority and essentially groomed a teenage boy (Frasier was 17 at the time). However, instead of Frasier realizing he was the victim of a child predator, he is shamed for "abandoning" Ms. Warner, with Niles even suggesting that he needs to thank her for the "contribution" she made to his life.
