  • Harsher in Hindsight: Gumillia's reaction to discovering that Rin-Chan lip-syncs as though it was some massive betrayal gets a little less funny when it's revealed that Rin-Chan used to sing perfectly fine until overwork and abuse ruined her voice. That, and the fact that Ton outright murders the girl doing the lip-syncing.
  • Les Yay: It is really easy to read Gumilia's breakdown in the climax pertaining to Elluka's true identity as Levia being that she was in love with her. What Levia says to her doesn't help.
  • Nightmare Retardant: Levia and Behemo, the two villains who started the series events and have recived quite a bit of build-up since they were established. At the climax, they finally appear... and it turns out they act like a more mature Arte and Pollo, with Behemo being a crossdresser who isn't really interested in causing mayhem anymore. This kinda breaks the fear they built somewhat.
  • Squick: The possibility that the previous Seventh Magician, Yuzette Ora, was going to use her Lust magic to seduce Lemy, a fourteen-year-old boy. Granted, it was mostly so he wouldn't kill her, but she was going mad with Lust at the time and the scene is ambiguous how far she was about to take it.
  • Take That!: Rin Chan's story could possibly be a type of mockery or even criticism against Japan's Idol culture. Idols aren't allowed to be in relationships because they are supposed to sell the idea of a potential relationship to their fans, who are more often than not overweight social outcasts who cover their bedroom walls with posters of them. Rin was taken in by Ton Corpa, a corpulent man with a huge painting of a young girl in his house and when a boy comes between the idol and him he loses it. Rin is miserable while working for Ton but when he's killed and she is allowed to work on her own terms, she bounces back fast.
