• Base-Breaking Character:
  • Esteban Gallego. A kickstarter bonus allowed him as a follower on your team after defeating him, but for everyone else, he is not available, and the developers has more or less directly said that he will never be brought into the game. Many fans have been enraged by this, to the extent of one commenting that the game should not have been made at all if all content could not have been made available for everyone, though the game was in danger of not being made at all as it narrowly scratched in enough kickstarter money. The fanbase seems roughly evenly divided on this issue.
  • Another point that has divided the fanbase is the issue of including women in the game. Some feel it disrupts the otherwise perfetct historical authenticity, while others that it gives the option of a more colorful team. While it is a fact that female conquistadors did travel to the new world during the Conquista, they were far from half of the expeditions members. It is however possible to select a team of only men, if the player wants to.
