  • Fridge Brilliance: It seems strange that the Shadowborn never discovered that Eldareth was from a village they destroyed, especially when the Veritas Academy records specify his home. However, Yvonne was assigned to infiltrate the academy and seems to be the only Shadowborn there. Since she's in support of Eldareth's actual agenda, she could have been assigned there both to keep the academy from learning about the Shadowborn and to keep the Shadowborn from accessing the academy records.
  • Game-Breaker: The Shield skill combined with a defensive stat build can make it easy for Celeste to survive even the strongest enemy attacks. It's supposed to be balanced by its percentage-based MP cost, but heavy attacks will recover MP quickly enough to cover the cost.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Eldareth is a sorcerer seeking revenge against the mysterious Shadowborn organization for slaughtering his village. After joining the Shadowborn and feigning loyalty long enough to climb to the top of their hierarchy, Eldareth steals dangerous Akleim Artifacts in order to prepare for a ritual to wipe out the organization's headquarters, even at the cost of his own life and potentially causing a continent-wide disaster. At the same time, Eldareth stations Yvonne at his alma mater to silence anyone who tries to investigate him or the Shadowborn. When it comes time to perform the ritual, Eldareth gives his most loyal subordinates false leads on artifacts so that they'll be spared from the destruction of their base. After losing to the protagonist Celeste, Eldareth uses his last moments to tell her where to find his research notes so she can keep them out of the Shadowborn survivors' hands.
  • That One Attack: Eldareth can summon tornados, which are easy to dodge but stay on the field for a long time and track Celeste, making it hard to approach him. This gets worse in his second/final fight, where he has a clone who can also summon tornados and fill the room with projectiles. To a lesser extent, the Shadowborn mages can use summon one tornado at a time.
