YMMV / Escape Plan 2: Hades

• Anti-Climax Boss: The fight between Breslin and Kimbral lasts under a minute and goes in Breslin's favor, despite the latter being more physically fit than the former. Given that this fight only cemented how much of a Smug Snake Kimbral was, this may have been intentional.
• Complete Monster: Jaspar Kimbral is the warden of Hades, an illegal prison designed to surpass "the Tomb". After Kimbral is fired from Breslin's team for getting a hostage killed, Kimbral spent a year building Hades and kidnapping hundreds of people, where he tortured them with electricity for information that would make him rich. Kimbral also forces the inmates to fight each other in order to break their willpower and sanity. Seeking petty revenge on Breslin, Kimbral gradually kidnaps members of Breslin's team, and repeatedly tortures them or forces the inmates to beat them to near-death. Even after Kimbral finally catches Breslin, he refuses to kill him, preferring to keep him and his teammates alive just so he'll have the satisfaction of watching them get abused by the inmates every single day.
• Sequelitis: This movie is generally considered to be significantly inferior to the previous one.
• Special Effects Failure: This movie had less than half the budget of the previous one, and it shows. Anytime something explodes or electricity is flowing through the prison cells, the CGI is very noticeably animated.
