YMMV / Escape Lala

Go To

  • Awesome Music: While the music in Escape Lala is decent, the music in 2 is even better. It uses a wider variety of instruments, creating a more immersive experience. Some examples include the princess's beautiful Lonely Piano Piece and the cheerful ditty that plays on the pirate ship.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: The Cubic Pearl has gotten more fanart than any other character, despite being an item that doesn't get much use. Its adorable, simple design helps.
  • Even Better Sequel: The first game is charming and fun, if short. The second game expands on pretty much everything that the first game offered. It has many more rooms, more puzzles, more music tracks, etc. On top of that, it has a really beautiful story told through Story Breadcrumbs, albeit one that still left plenty of unanswered questions. It's no wonder that the small, but devoted fanbase is craving a third game.
  • The Woobie: Both the princess and the wizard. As it turns out, they are Star-Crossed Lovers, and it's implied that they were not allowed to be together because the princess's family believed the wizard was evil. Because of the air god's rules on who is unable to enter the afterlife, the wizard could not enter because he wasn't buried, and the princess couldn't enter because she left her loved one behind in death. It's implied that they have been in this state "for generations," which could mean centuries.
