• Fridge Horror: Okay, so Eleanor got away from Richie. Great! But what about her siblings now that she's not around to protect them? ...Not so great, except she's aware of that and writes a letter threatening to call the police if her mother doesn't leave with the kids, and her mother follows through.
• Moral Event Horizon: Richie probably crossed it a long time ago (like, for instance, when he threw Eleanor out of the house for a year for playing music too loudly), but when you realize he was the one writing vulgar and abusive messages on Eleanor's books, and probably wants to rape her, you know that Eleanor needs to get out of that house before it's too late.
• The Woobie: Eleanor. An abusive home life, getting bullied at school, and insecure in her appearance. Although she finally gets away from Richie, who's implied to want to sexually abuse her, it means being separated from the love of her life, Park.
