• Alternative Character Interpretation: Is the infamous missing staircase scene a sign of Eds' parents abuse? Or did they predict someone would try and bust Ed out- or, though less probable, Ed trying to escape himself?
• Fanfic Fuel: Why was Ed grounded in the first place? Did he even do anything wrong?
• Fanon: A growing fan theory is that Ed was grounded for his actions in the previous episode. Those who subscribe to this theory are less sympathetic towards him as a result.
• Memetic Mutation: "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STAIRS!?"
  • "My parents took them down because I am grounded!"
    • "That's disturbing..."
• The Woobie: Ed, both because of how sad he is that his parents grounded him and because of how utterly terrified he is of getting caught while Edd and Eddy are trying to sneak him outside.
