- Author Tract: On occasion Doug TenNapel's right-leaning beliefs enter the comic. Fortunately, they never impact the plot and are almost always done jokingly; like Evil the cat, resident Satanic Archetype, being a communist.
- Moral Event Horizon:
- It's hard to pinpoint where Queen Slug-For-A-Butt truly crossed the line. Judging by her evilness, it's most likely that she already crossed it at some point before. In case she didn't, then she certainly does when she orders to destroy Earth while knowing that Princess Whats-Her-Name, her own daughter, is still stranded on it.
- Psycrow crosses it when he blows up Farmer Jim's house while everyone just barely escaped. It was certainly enough to get Earthworm Jim motivated to stop him.
