- More Popular Replacement: The second heroine and samurai officer, Naotora, seems to have been better received than her predecessor Ginchiyo. A combination of her looks, crush on Dora, inmense power in battle and serving as a rare female mentor seems to have won fans over, considering the duplicitous behaviour of her predecessor.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: It's a bit unclear what gender Kusanagi is supposed to be, or if they even have one at all
