YMMV / Dolls Fall

Go To

  • Complete Monster: Headmistress Chloe Zola-Kanno fell in love with killing the helpless when she witnessed her own orphanage headmistress go mad and kill her friend and began killing orphans with her. Seeking to resurrect an evil witch by torturing and killing virgins, Chloe spends a century bringing girls with special powers to her orphanage by killing their families and bathing in their blood to stay eternally young. Renting the girls to the townsfolk to use for sex rituals, when a pair of reporters upload Chloe's crimes to the internet, she goes ballistic, ordering all the orphans killed, before having her staff commit suicide to appease the witch's bloodlust.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The main complaint about the manga is how fast-paced it is, with little time taken to explain things. Many characters have multiple scenes yet never receive a name, and/or die immediately after having pushed the story on one single point, if at all. The exact nature of Jiaiin Girls Dormitory barely rises above "be careful, there's a lot of bad stuff going on everywhere around here". And the whole part with each girl having a superpower only truly matters in chapters 14 and 15, with most girls' superpowers never being revealed and only one ever being named.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: With as much abuse, torture, and murder going on as it does, and very few characters getting proper characterization, a lot of what the girls go through fails to be truly horrifying. It says something that the only death fans really talk about is Mimi Hinawa's, whose fate marked the change from "everything is fine" to "everything is decidedly not fine".
