  • Broken Base:
    • Is it a good thing to comment requests on all of Dog Toons' videos so that he knows what intros people want to see next (something that he has encouraged and told people to do from the start), or is it actually annoying and even unnecessary to do so? The latter holds merit especially as people tend to overdo it and doing so makes it seem like they don't actually care about the content itself.
    • Are the more recent Homemade Intros videos better and more entertaining than the original set of intros, or does the First Installment Win?
  • Growing the Beard: The Homemade Intros series is often seen as this, with much more.. "effort" put into them, and how the videos only got more surreal and horrifying as time went on. For better or worse.
  • Just Here for Godzilla:
    • Most people only know Dog Shirt for either his attempts to eat Jason Segel's face everyday, or his Homemade Intros videos. At least it helps that the latter is on its own channel as to not add insult to injury.
    • Within the Homemade Intros community, most only care about getting their requests done rather than the actual intros themselves, leaving the comment section usually full of requests no matter how old the video is, instead of anyone actually commenting about what the video itself contains.
  • Older Than They Think: You would think the Dog Shirt YouTube channel was created first, however it was actually the Dog Toons channel instead, which also posted its first video before anything on the Shirt channel (it's only a few months difference, however). The latter channel was created in 2015, and only started posting anything the following year.
  • Paranoia Fuel: Tons of his Homemade Intros videos cause this, especially the 3D ones for how creepy and unsettling they are. He's certainly given some children nightmares with these.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Discussed in his Chuggington video, where nearly all of it is the singer insisting and promising that it's not Thomas & Friends.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Tends to run into this a lot, thanks to Homemade Intros essentially being a Subverted Kids' Show, with tons of children's shows being parodied in the most terrifying ways. However, one would not have noticed this with the fairly normal titles that these videos have, which leads to some parents thinking that this is another YouTube Kids' Channel, and being horrified to learn that it isn't.
