• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The original outline for the climax about the Doctor having to face the Boogeyman of Gallifrey that lingers in the Time Vortex was substituted for a more upbeat ending that embraces romantics.
• Win Back the Crowd: Whereas Neil Cross's previous episode, "The Rings of Akhaten", was divisive upon release, "Hide" was much better received, and is still considered by a few to be the best episode of the season.
