• Esoteric Happy Ending: The episode is meant to end on a bittersweet note, with Richfield devouring the Grapdelite couple, believed to be the last two of their kind, which would make the species extinct. Robbie, however, finds two Grapdelite cubs under a blanket in his room, which means that the species avoided extinction in the end. The problem is, since the now last two Grapdelites alive are related, the only way the species can continue existing is through incest, which is prone to lead to a mess of genetic disorders in a few generations.
• Harsher in Hindsight: After Robbie gets an F on his paper, the Grapdelites tell him that maybe the teacher is wrong, and Robbie says he tried that on his parents before. Nowadays, parents tend to hold teachers responsible for their kids poor grades, it varying on whether the parents are just entitled or the teachers were legitimately incompetent due to a flimsy school system.
