- Not So Crazy Anymore: In the third book Jason tells Meta that the ore on a certain planet is rich enough to use in reactors unrefined. When she tells him it's ridiculous he admits he was exaggerating. Guess what was discovered four years later?
- Strawman Has a Point: In the second Death World book, a major character exists solely so the Author Avatar can explain to him the virtues of moral relativism. Only problem is, while the character is a dog-kicking Designated Villain, the arguments he makes against relativism aren't really shot down, just ignored in favor of the main character being made to look much cooler than him.
