  • Awesome Music: The opening track, Vessel in Vain, which completely sets the tone for the movie.
  • Funny Moments: Odd considering the incredibly dark tone of the film, but there are several moments where one can't help but laugh at the staggering ineptitude of Sonny and his gang.
    • Sonny opening the door... wearing lipstick and eyeliner, that's been applied in his sleep.
    • "I told him not to mention the elephant!"
  • Heartwarming Moments: Anthony and Richard reminiscing about their schooldays, in particular the sports day.
Anthony: They all tried to hold your hand. I didn't.
    Richard: No, you didn't.
Anthony: Don't need to, do I?
    • Later subverted, when it's revealed that Richard wouldn't touch his brother because he was disgusted with his disability.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Richard himself. On the surface, he's a quiet, soft-spoken man who keeps to himself, but below the surface, he's a vicious, calculating killer who is overflowing with barely contained rage. Further more, it becomes more and more obvious the man is outright psychotic.
    • The gang's first encounter with Richard, who quickly manages to rattle Sonny by showing no fear or concern whatsoever and making it clear he broke into Sonny's house and was literal inches away from killing him in his sleep.
Richard: "I'm not threatening you mate. It's beyond fucking words. I watched over you when you were asleep and I looked at your fucking neck and I was that far away from slicing it."
    • Suddenly finding yourself tripping your balls off without knowingly taking any drugs, and then a masked assassin finds his way into the house and starts killing your friends right in front of your helpless eyes.
    • The matter-of-fact way in which Richard tells Soz he's going to kill him, just before ending his life with one well-placed open-palm strike to the nose.
Richard: I'm gonna end it all for you, now. Gonna take it all away from you. So go on, you just look at me like that, that's it, mate. That's it. You just stand there. Don't move. I'm gonna fucking shut you off.
  • Tear Jerker: When Richard admits to the final man that he was actually disgusted by his brother. It's clear he's consumed with guilt when he says it.
  • The Woobie: Anthony
