• Awesome Music: Completely unironically, the original basslines Davie frequently composes are well done, fast-paced slap bass lines that show his skill very handsomely.
• Broken Base: No pun intended. Some fans like the current direction of his channel where he memes the bass, while others would prefer Davie go back to being a music-focused channel.
• Crazy Is Cool: Who else would have thought of using a bass guitar as a controller to play Minecraft with?
• Harsher in Hindsight: Many people find his speaking videos annoying, and want him to return to his grassroots videos where he only plays bass covers. Then comes his "Childhood Reveal" video, where Davie talks about how he was bullied a lot at school for having a monotone voice (among other things), how his self-confidence was destroyed as a result, and how making videos helped him become more confident again.
• Hype Backlash: The sheer reputation of Davie as one of the best and famous bassists on the internet has earned him lots of ire for those who only look at his newer videos which mostly comprise of him looking at memes and reacting to bass videos. Many who are actual bassists also aren’t fans of Davie for this reason.
• It's Popular, Now It Sucks!: Many former fans of the channel think that Davie was better before he got popular, as his channel has now shifted from actual bass playing to videos of him merely looking at content on the internet that involve the bass. Many accuse Davie of pandering to the Lowest Common Denominator.
• Squick: Averted. Upon reaching six million subscribers, Davie ate pineapple pizza. He admits it's pretty good.
