YMMV / Danny Phantom S 3 E 7 Livin Large

Go To

  • Anvilicious: One of the most infamous examples in the series, and an Aesop that was seen in almost every cartoon from this era that it was just repetitive. Yes, being a rich and selfish person is bad...we get it.
  • Ass Pull: Earth and the Ghost Zone being dimensional flip sides of each other. It was never brought up before this episode and isn't mentioned again until the series finale.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Of the many characters who could've gotten rich, why Danny? While the "how" would be the big question, the character who would benefit from being in a wealthy family the most is Valerie. In fact, Danny's entire arc in the episode would work just as well, if not better, if it were Valerie instead. She would revert back to her old self before someone, let's say Danny in this case, telling her how wrong it is and how far she's come before deciding she doesn't want to be a conceited rich snob anymore. Instead, we're given Danny for reasons that completely go against his Character Development.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Tucker stands with Sam over how disappointed they are that Danny's suddenly acting so entitled and full of himself over his new wealth. However, Tucker was the one who told Danny he should lighten up and enjoy all his riches could provide. Next scene after? Completely against it. It's as if the episode forgot to add a scene of him realizing his mistake, as all it does is make Tucker, the guy who encouraged Danny, ignore his role in their friend's change of mind.
