* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Despite personal issues, when Love manages to pull it all together she can come up with some great songs. "Boys on the Radio" and "Celebrity Skin" are both high points.
* EpilepticTrees: While the theory that she murdered Kurt Cobain may count as this, other theorists take it to a whole new level with a [[UsefulNotes/BillClinton Clinton Body Count]]-esque theory suggesting that she is a sociopath responsible for numerous murders all in the name of rising to prominence. Among others, they put responsibility on her for Kurt Cobain (of course) and Hole bassist Kristen Pfaff's deaths.
* HarsherInHindsight: "Miss World" has 2 relating to Kristen Pfaff:
** The line "I've made my bed, I'll die in it" was actually written by Kristen. After Kurt died, Kristen was planning to leave Seattle to stay sober, but sadly relapsed, and died in her sleep of an opiate overdose the day she was intending to move.
** In the music video, there is a close up of Kristen immediately after the line "Kill me, pills".
* HoYay: In the "Celebrity Skin" era with Melissa Auf der Maur. Ironic given that she never did anything like that with Patty Schemel, who is actually a lesbian.
* ImplausibleDeniability: At the Roast of Creator/PamelaAnderson, she'd punctuate some of her drunken (or high, it's unclear which) antics with "I've been clean and sober for a ''year''!" No one bought it for a second.
* JerkassWoobie: Between being abandoned by her mother at a young age, growing up practically unwanted by any of her family, spending her adolescence in Juvie, having to work as a stripper to make ends meet, narrowly escaping being raped during said job and the police not believing her story, the love of her life killing himself right when her life seemed to be getting on track, and her then [[YokoOhNo developing one of the biggest hatedoms in history because of it]], it is inarguable that Love has lived an extraordinarily hard life. However, her generally abrasive and reckless behavior makes it difficult, if not impossible, for anyone to feel sorry for her... at least for lengthy periods of time.
* MisBlamed: While she certainly has done herself no favors over the years, a lot of the Yoko Ono-esque hatemongering and finger-pointing regarding her impact on Cobain is frankly unfounded. The fact of the matter is that Cobain was already deeply depressed, suicidal, self-medicating (allegedly for the pain from a stomach condition that he never got diagnosed or sought proper treatment for), and generally dramatically self-destructive, and he was already very far down the road to ruin by the time they seriously started talking. She certainly did not help early on, but by the end, she was probably one of the few reasons that he hadn't killed himself sooner. It is known that both of them used heroin and other hard drugs together, but she is also on record as having saved him from at least one overdose and also staged an intervention; as a whole, it appears to be a case of her not being immaculate by any means, but also being blamed for plenty of things that Cobain was doing to himself just fine without her.
* TearJerker: Quite a few, including "Doll Parts," "Northern Star," "Miss World" and "Letter to God."
** The recording of her sobbingly reading Kurt's suicide note to a crowd shortly after his death became public.
*** When she gets to the line about Kurt wishing normalcy in his suicide note, she lets out a haunting "Well why didn't you '''fucking stay!?'''".
* YokoOhNo: Much of the Music/{{Nirvana}} fandom ''hates'' her, with a vocal group of conspiracy theorists even insisting that she was responsible for his death.
** A frequent source of controversy was the allegation that Cobain either entirely wrote or heavily contributed to ''Music/LiveThroughThis'' (he only added backing vocals and guitar to two songs) -- Love did not help her case by rewriting the lyrics of the Nirvana outtake "Old Age" for ''My Body the Hand Grenade'' and not bothering to explain that it was originally a Nirvana song. According to her, there's a part of her that would have loved for Cobain to have written something, but she also admitted that pride would have more than likely made her refuse to accept any of his contributions.
** That she almost seems to go out of her way to antagonize Nirvana fans and seemingly has little respect for her husband's legacy has only made things worse. She published his personal journals (Cobain was pretty anti-fame, and notoriously private), and then licensed his image to VideoGame/GuitarHero, so fans can force him to sing whatever they want. Admittedly, it IS funny to make him sing [[SitcomArchNemesis [=GNR=]]] songs, but Nirvana fans (and former band members) were not pleased. Her habit of holding up the release of pretty much any unreleased Nirvana stuff seemingly just ForTheEvulz threw even more fuel on the fire.
** At one point, she had a relationship with [[Music/NineInchNails Trent Reznor]], which didn't end well. Trent blames her for ruining his friendship with Music/ToriAmos, and both of them made songs seemingly attacking Love (NIN's "Starfuckers, Inc.", accompanied by a video which involved a lookalike being dunked in a tub of water, and Tori's "Professional Widow")
