• Just Here for Godzilla: Most people who played this game did so just because it's an official crossover involving Arc System Works characters
• Memetic Mutation: Several comments have been made comparing the character designs to that of Tangled: The Series, especially Stella, who looks like Rapunzel with her hair done up and wearing glasses.
• So Okay, It's Average: The general consensus is that, while the game's premise is good, the execution is rather flat and boring, with review scores being very middle-of-the-road.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: As mentioned above, many people like the idea of an Arc System Works crossover as well as the framing device of a fictional game company to bring them all together, it's just that the game itself isn't very memorable, otherwise.
  • Likewise, many people would probably prefer if Colorful Fighters was its own separate game, either keeping it as an 8-bit Smash clone (one that isn't confined to Code Shifter's less than stellar gameplay) or as a standard 2D fighting game that ASW is so well known for (especially since this is the first official crossover between Guilty Gear and Blazblue outside of Mythology Gags and Shout-Outs, something people have been wanting for years).
