• Accidental Nightmare Fuel:
  • You will be forgiven for thinking Serika having a road crash in Chapter 5 was meant to be a Cliffhanger instead of another comical instance of her getting distracted over how cute she finds Nao to be. The authors probably realized, as a note was added to clarify Serika will be fine in the next chapter.
  • Likewise the Attempted Rape is meant to be an instance of Black Comedy Rape but some readers found it more creepy that funny because of how uncomfortable Sao was for the act, Serika forcing her arms and Serika telling him he would have to take responsability if she gets pregnant (which is something she wanted to happen) making her look like a Manipulative Bitch.
• Fanon Discontinuity: It is a very popular option to ignore the Attempted Rape in Chapter 17 to avert making the relationship come up as way too creepy.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Some felt that the first half of the manga was an hilarious desconstruction of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope, by giving Sao a quirky girl that's obsessed with him that forces him into new experiences but instead of improving his life, Serika causes him more problems and alienates the few people that would like to interact with him. To those who enjoyed the manga for that, the second half were the romance is suddenly played straight can be a bit of a letdown.
