• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Darrell Hammond, who during the time of the film's release was on his first season of Saturday Night Live portrays Chris McCarthy, a fan who gets rejected for being viewed as a bad luck charm.
  • Stand-up comedian Jeffrey Ross plays the victim of the car theft that Officer O'Grady dismisses.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The idea of how obsessive and even crazy sports fans could be could have made for a good satire film instead of making it a kidnapping comedy.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Mike is split up from his wife, but you can't really feel sorry for him since he's a fanatical sports fan, whom even said he broke his wife's Chia Pet after a Celtics loss and with him being okay with holding Lewis hostage until the finals.
