- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- Carry On Spying technically did an adaptation of The Living Daylights before the movie made 20 years later. (This is due to Spying, despite being marketed as a Bond parody, largely actually parodying The Third Man, a film whose plot largely influenced Daylights.)
- Chief cinematographer Alan Hume later worked on a few James Bond movies later in his career. The three films being A View to a Kill, For Your Eyes Only, and Octopussy.
- In the restaurant, it's suggested that a tape recorder should be placed under a table. This trick later made an appearance in For Your Eyes Only.
- Some recurring actors in the Carry On film series (none of whom feature in this movie) have made appearances in James Bond movies. Margaret Nolan and Valerie Leon, most notably.
- The Automation Area soundtrack can be heard frequently in episodes of the animated adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons (1983).
- This wouldn't be the last time Bernard Cribbins would appear in a James Bond spoof.
- Older Than They Think: Some may believe that Casino Royale (1967) was the first James Bond parody, but this movie predates it four years.
- Retroactive Recognition: The head waiter is played by John Bluthal, who would later be best known for playing Frank Pickle in The Vicar of Dibley.
- Special Effect Failure: The cobbles on the Street of a Thousand Artisans are clearly made of rubber.
