- Fan Nickname: Some fans give Pepe, Floella, and Giorgio the surname "Ripoffola", popularised by the unofficial sequel Tie-In Novel Carry On Abroad: The WICKEDLY funny story that starts where the film ends.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Watching Mr. Tuttle's chronic drinking becomes uncomfortable once you remember how bad Charles Hawtrey's alcoholism got towards the end of his life.
- Older Than They Think: Despite the "tried it once and didn't like it" scene being considered one of the film's most memorable by fans, June Whitfield wasn't the first actress to utter this phrase to Sid James. A Made-for-TV Christmas Special airing the previous year (All This, and Christmas Too!, which also starred Carry On regular Kenneth Connor) had Rose Power playing a similarly stoney character to Evelyn Blunt and saying these same words to James.
- Retroactive Recognition: Evelyn Blunt is played by June Whitfield, who would later be best known for playing June Fletcher in Happy Ever After, June Medford in Terry and June, and Mother in Absolutely Fabulous.
- Signature Scene: The Palace Hotel's collapse on the last night as Pepe frantically tries to make repairs and the holidaymakers drunkenly dance or make love, oblivious to all the chaos.
