- Awesome Music: If you like disco, then Alessandro Blonksteiner's score is made for you. And even if you don't, it's hard to deny that said score is one of the most memorable aspects of the film, and serves as a rather surreal counterpoint to the horror onscreen.
- Narm:
- The scene where Charlie tears a man's leg apart to the sound of disco.
- Likewise, the fight between the cannibals and the biker gang loses some of its tension due to the odd but catchy soundtrack.
- Signature Scene: Charlie having his guts blown out by a shotgun is the most talked about scene in the movie.
- Squick: Though not a violent as some of the other cannibal films released around this time, there are still a few scenes that are disgusting enough that they led to the movie being banned in the UK:
- Charlie and Tommy eating the burned remains of a women who fell into their cage.
- Nurse Helen biting and then spitting out a fellow doctor's tongue before bashing his brains in with a rock.
- Charlie shoving his fingers into both of the biker gang leader's eyes during the fight.
- Charlie having his insides blown out by a shotgun.
- Tear Jerker: Norman and an infected Jane killing themselves at the end of the film.
